I've read a few different versions now that vary slightly on how to do it. Just wondering if any mechanics out there know for sure. ThanksHow do you check and then clear engine trouble codes on a 1995 Nissan 200sx?
Find the ECM see the window with the red and green LED's key on engine off turn the screwdriver slot switch clockwise gently those light will start flashing once... twice... then on the third flash (mode 3) turn the switch counter clockwise. Now the units and tenths digits will be flashed out and repeated 3 times write those down each code then the next code after your done turn the slot clockwise 4 flash then 5 flash turn slot switch gently counter clockwise the ECM has been cleared. That slot switch is a small circuit board part can can be ruined if you think you need to tighten it. Some models have the codes written down on a gold sticker on the ecm. And make sure the a/c is turned off it will set a code if the motor is not running. Good Luck
