How does a check clear?

I WROTE A CHECK FOR A BOOK OFF EBAY, THE SELLER WON'T SHIP INTILL THE CHECK CLEARS. THE CHECK HAS ALREADY HIT MY BANK AND CLEARED. DOES IT GO THROUGH HIS BANK AND THEN MINE OR IS IT THE OTHER WAY AROUND? SELLER SAYS IT TAKES 10 BUSSNIESS DAYS TO CLEAR HIS BANK, BUT IT'S ALREADY COME TO MINEHow does a check clear?

check is deposited in his bank, bank puts in in his account as pending, check is sent to your bank, they make sure you have the $ to cover it, then they transfer the $ to his bank, and the check is cleared. It sould be very soon.
Check clearing is easy, when you have the cash in your account.


Think you are asking why the seller has not notified you about the item being shipped. Send him an email to check his bank. Let him know your bank shows the clearing of the check. Also, be advised that all eBay sellers are not fair. I have had a few that just took the money. EBay gives very little protection to buyers. So don't expect them to help get your money back.
