we have 4 sonys and have never been disappointed although I dont know that model number you mentioned since ours are at least 2 yrs old
HDMI is the top of the line high def tv u will find right now

the order from best to worst high def for picture is crt, lcd, and then plasma, generally. depending on how expensive the tv's r. if they r all the same price that will b the order. crt just isn't regarded as much anymore because it's a much bulkier, and ppl want a thin tv they can mount on their wall
