No... you can only write a check if you have enough funds in the account to cover the amount of the check.





Writing checks on an account that does not have the funds to cover can get you in a lot of trouble - even Jail. Since you knew that you did not have enough money in the account when you wrote the check you committed check fraud.





Better get to the bank and put money in the account fast.
Writing checks when you do not have available funds to cover it is a crime.
