Any definate one fix to clear the check engine light that seems to plauge Nissan trucks.?

Seems that on different vehicles it's different sensors or wires that cause the trouble,Any bulletins or definate fix info available?Any definate one fix to clear the check engine light that seems to plauge Nissan trucks.?
Resetting the check engine light will not solve your problem, because it came on for a reason.

Either take it to a shop to have the problem diagnosed or if you want to do it yourself then do the following:

1) Buy an OBD II scanner.

2) You would be able to pull the codes that triggered the check engine light.

3) Fix the problem

4) Reset the check engine light with the scanner

5) Drive the truck on highway, in city for a few days as the vehicle will go through a drive cycle. Some more advanced scanners will let you check if the vehicle has been through the drive cycle. They call it the ';readiness monitor';. If the scanner shows ready ';yes'; the drive cycle has been completed.

6) If the check engine light will not come back you are all set. If it comes back you need to start from #2 above.

I hope this helps.

A few places for good OBD II scanners:

A diffenate one fix is to buy a new car. Or you can reset the ECU(computer), but the check engine light will still eventually come back because you really didn't fix anything.

The check engine light can come on for ton's of reasons, not just one. Even a loose gas cap can trigger it.

Take the car in to get it scanned, some places will do it for free.
