Time it takes for a check to clear at credit union?

my mom is writing me a check for 9,000. im going to deposit in my credit union. they always have letted me cash checks instantly. i doubt they will this one. but i need some of it now. about 500 will they let me get it?Time it takes for a check to clear at credit union?
It depends. If the check is drawn on the same credit union, it might only be a day or two. A local bank, 4 or 5 days. An out of state bank might be 2 weeks.





Sometimes the first $100 is available instanly and usually payroll checks clear within a day or 2 also. They should have a policy posted somewhere. If not, just ask them when you make the deposit.
