Im sending away for an e-bay item and am writing a check. How long does it take for a check to clear??
Usually not very long any more. The seller should know in a week or less that the check has cleared. How long does it take for a check to clear??
You should never send a check on an eBay transaction. You should ONLY do business on payment with PayPal. You just send out your bank account to a total stranger, you may need to close that bank account. If you don't there may be fraudulent transaction or withdraw from your bank account. You should act now!

If this guy is legit, it only take less than a day to clear your bank. Remember we are in the computer age, everything moves in nano seconds.

Good luck!
3-days
a day
As long as the bank feels they can screw you over for... 3-5 working days i think.
Well, you'll have to mail it so that will take a few days. It depends on when the person cashes it. It will probably take 1-2 days after they cash it.
Nowadays, checks usually clear (are deducted from your account) within one business day of being deposited. However, the recipient may want to hold shipment for a longer period to be sure it doesn't bounce.
Nowadays, the moment they receive it (varies - depending on where you live in relation to their address) they can submit it to the bank...so don't send a check unless the $ is in the bank (always a good rule to live by!)
3 days avg.unless your sending from another country to another country which can take up to 1o days to 14 days.
Usually a check will clear within 10 days. If a problem occurs and the check is insufficient, it will bounce back and forth between the originating bank and your bank. I've seen some bad checks take 30 days before they are listed as insufficient. Where you can stop the wait is by taking the check to the other person's bank and asking the teller to convert the check to a cashier's check for you. You may have to pay about a $5.00 fee, but you'll have your money right away. Also, if the check is bad, the bank has accepted the other check as tender and now the bad check relationship is not between you and the writer, but rather the bank and the writer. The cashier's check is yours free and clear as the bank has written a new check to you.
You would have to allow for the time it takes to get to the person you mailed it to. Then how long it takes them to take it to their bank... once it gets to their bank about 5 to 7 working days is the usual.
It takes approximately 7-10 business days to have a paper check clear to the point of showing on your account. There are other options that are safe and reliable. Such as paypal, which is usually the most accepted form of payment. Good luck!
