How long does it take a check to clear at Bank of America?

3 business daysHow long does it take a check to clear at Bank of America?
In today's world of electronics a check from anywhere can be cleared in one day. The law has been changed recently to allow banks to clear checks electronically without having to go through the federal deposit bank with the actual paper check. Some banks may still withhold funds for larger, out of town, checks for 10 days as they did years ago but they shouldn't. It isn't necessary any more. How long does it take a check to clear at Bank of America?
Did you deposit the check? If so all you have to do is call Bank of America and they will tell you when they will the funds will be released to you. Probably for that amount about 7 days but it sometimes also depends on your account history.
usually it'll go into the pending thing if you check online within just a few hours of it being deposited if you deposited it inside the bank. sometimes they're complete bastards w/ checks that big though, and they put a hold on them if it's not normal for you to deposit something that large.

when my husband and i deposited about $5,000 into our account they put a hold on 2 of the checks (one of which was just regular payroll) and didn't even automatically add the $100 to the account like they usually do when you deposit something.

if you need the money ASAP call customer service and see if they can speed it up at all.
7 days depending on if you have money enough to cover the check, and or you have a checking account there. However they will release at least $100.00 dollars to you.
