If you disconnect the battery will it clear the check engine light?

Would it delete the code and not come back if you fixed the problem?? I dont feel like taking it to get scanned ? So can i clear the code by simply disconnecting the battery on my car? thanks!~ (its an o2 sensor checkenginelight .. they been replaced )If you disconnect the battery will it clear the check engine light?
it ptobably will for awhile. Auto Zone will scan it and there is no charge. If you disconnect the battery will it clear the check engine light?
It might clear it temporarily.

the problem is that even if you have repaired the problem the code can store in your computer as a ghost and return to haunt you later.

Usually disconnecting the battery for at least ten minutes will clear the code, though.

Good luck

No. That is a pre-1996 (pre-odb2) trick. And even with the new ODB2 system, the fault will be re-triggered if cleared without fixing the problem.

Good Luck..
long AS you have no more codes
