I work for a police department and depending on what it is (and it doesnt have to be an arrest) run ins with the law can stay on your record for life. It would help me answer it if you were more specific. How long does it take for a lodged police check to clear?
In Australia it takes about 10 working days to get a report sent after you lodge the trequest. I would imagine that is about standard in USA but don't know for sure. Best to ask the police.
