its a check from the UK 5,000 pounds. its made out to my name and its from a business. will i have any problems?How long will an check from the UK take to clear here in the US?
Oh my goodness! Are you one of those poor unfortunates who have fallen for that scam. Someone says they will send you a check so you can clear it through your own bank account then you send $5,000 back only to find out that your money is real and theirs is nonexistent? I had a friend who almost got taken by a man in UK who wanted to change money with her so he could send it to his son in Kenya because it would be faster. If I hadn't stopped her, she would be out $3,000 today.





If it is legitimate, why use a check? That can take sometimes weeks to clear. Plus all the exchange fees. If you register with Paypal, they can take care of all that and the low exchange fee and your transaction is completed within minutes or hours. Also, you have protection through Paypal. But, I have this huge fear for you that you have been duped. I hope not. I do this all the time with UK businesses.How long will an check from the UK take to clear here in the US?

I have been scammed so many times from foreigners and got stuck paying back $7500 after sending money wire transfer to them and the check was bogus....my bank accused me of fraud and closed my account and reported me to fraud department with collection services damaging my credit.


I was sent more bogus checks supposedly to pay back the $7500 which closed another bank account because of being accused of being involved in the fraud once again.





Watch anyone sending you large checks !!!
