How long does it take for a deposited check to clear?

I deposited an out of state check into my bank account on july 22 and am wondering how long does it take to clear. Today is the 27th. My account has been credited the amount since the deposit and is still showing on my online statement. thanksHow long does it take for a deposited check to clear?

Checks can clear from 1-7 business days. It depends on where the check is drawn. You can check with your bank and give them the routing numbers on the deposited check and they should be able to tell you when it will clear. If it is showing on your statement then it probably has cleared unless it shows a hold on the amount. Some banks will credit a percentage of the total each day until it actually clears the other bank.
